Description: This is the largest man-made object in human history. The Earth-ring station looks like a pair of hula-hoops that encircle the Earth, set off at ninety degree angles from one another. The rings connect at two points, one over the Gulf of Mexico and one over Taiwan . These intersection points are where the bulk of the population live and work, each one home to some fifty-million people. The rings themselves are used as space ports, to dock, load, unload, fuel, repair, and build ships of all shapes and sizes. The rings secondary purpose is power generation, using two systems, one solar and one thermal, to generate all of the power that the inhabitants of the station need. On average there are around fifty-million people living in the rings at any given time, plus another fifty to one-hundred thousand transients that may be on-station at any given time.
