Is this not the coolest comic book movie ever made?

I mean seriously, they nailed the character of Tony Stark, nailed the technology, from the armor all the way down to the little flashes of his OS interface on his home computer systems!

We got the DVD on Monday (the day before it hit stores which was pretty cool), and I watched the move and all four hours of behind the scenes stuff while working on Tuesday. Everything about the damn movie from its inception to completion and beyond was amazingly well put together and all in the spirit of the character and books.

This is the kind of movie you get when those involved love the source material and work hard at doing it great justice. Kudos to all those involved in the project!

I know they've already signed on for IM2. I just hope John agrees to direct it and we get the same cast. They all did an amazing job and played their parts to a 't'!

OK, you're turn now. What did you think?
Speaking as a guy who bought his first issue of Iron Man in Late September of 1987 (#222), and had been a freak about it for the last 21 years.... Job well done.

Downey Jr. hit Stark perfectly. I couldn't have been happier with the characters, the plot and best of all, the ARMOR. I'm glad they didn't take huge creative license with the armor and turn it into something that you didn't recognize. It stayed the true red and gold.

Can't wait for #2.

Yes indeed! Being on IM2!

And his cameo in The Incredible Hulk was great as well!

If you have or get the special edition DVD they talk a lot on the second disk about how important it was for the film crew to keep the Marvel bull-pen on tap to make sure they weren't taking license in the wrong areas or tweaking thins that the fans would not abide.
